2. A range of (at least two) Fair Trade products is readily available in the area’s shops and local cafés/catering establishments.
3. Fair Trade products are used by a number of local work places (real estate agents, hairdressers, etc) and community organizations (churches, schools, etc)
4. Attract media coverage and popular support for the campaign.
5. Establish a local Fair Trade steering group to ensure continued commitment to its Fair Trade Town status.

'Fair Trade Month in Taos' Proclamation

Committee members Janet Randall and Katie Thomas draw the name of the winner in The Yarn Shop, which carries FT yarn and serves FT coffee.

After holding a successful "Shop Hop" during World Fair Trade Month in October, the committee drew the name of the winner of the goodie basket during the holiday stroll at the John Dunn Shops. Committee members also distributed publications regarding fair trade during the holiday event. The winner of the basket is Mandy Larson, who was in Taos from Rhode Island visiting her aunt. The second annual "shop hop" drew almost five times as many participants as the first event last year. Contributors to the gift basket include Andean Software, Bent Street Deli, Caffe Tazza, Moxie, Mondo Culture, Starr Interiors and Sustaining Cultures.
